Bio

Emrah Akyuz is a lecturer in the Department of Management and Organization at the University of Bingol in Turkey. He holds an MSc in International Development from the University of Edinburgh in 2014 and a PhD in Environmental Law from the University of Leeds in 2019, where his doctoral and master’s research theses were funded by the Republic of Turkey. He is an environmental social scientist conducting research in the area of energy, human rights, and environmental policies, environmental human rights, environmental law, and urban politics. His research is regionally focussed in Turkey and Japan. He has published more than 15 journal articles related to his research interests. These papers have been subsequently reported by hundreds of newspapers, news channels, magazines, and news websites in Turkey. He is also the author of four books which include: (1) 100 Unknown Scientific Facts in Environmental Problems, (2) Save the World: The Scientific Secrets of the Clean Environment, (3) The ABC of Environmental Science: Environmental Issues and Policies for Beginners, and (4) Nuclear Power and Human Rights in Japan: The Fallout of Fukushima.
