Instructions to Authors
The International Journal of Agriculture, Environment and Food Sciences is an open-access, peer-reviewed scientific journal that publishes original research articles in English. The journal is published quarterly (March, June, September, and December) and implements a double-blind peer review process to ensure the integrity and quality of the scholarly record.
This page provides detailed guidance for authors regarding manuscript preparation, submission, ethical standards, and post-submission procedures.
Article Types
The journal accepts only Original Research Articles that present scientifically valid, original findings contributing to the fields of agriculture, environment, or food sciences. Review articles, case reports, or short communications are not accepted.
Language Requirements
All submissions must be written in fluent, clear, and grammatically correct academic English. Authors whose first language is not English are strongly encouraged to seek professional language editing prior to submission.
Manuscript Format and Structure
Authors must prepare their manuscripts using the journal's official Word template. The manuscript should be structured in the following order:
- Title
- Abstract (150–250 words)
- Keywords (3–6 relevant terms)
- Introduction
- Materials and Methods
- Results
- Discussion
- Conclusion
- Acknowledgments (optional)
- Conflict of Interest Statement
- References (APA 7th Edition)

Online Submission and Metadata
Manuscripts must be submitted through the DergiPark Submission System. During submission:
- All authors must be registered in DergiPark.
- Author names, affiliations, e-mails, and ORCID iDs must be entered in the metadata section.
- The abstract and references must also be provided in the metadata section.
- Submissions lacking complete metadata will be returned for correction without review.
Required Submission Documents
Authors must upload the following documents as separate supporting files during the submission process:
- Main Manuscript File – Prepared using the official template and anonymized (no author names or affiliations).
- Similarity Report – Generated using iThenticate or İntihal.net. All submissions are screened for plagiarism.
- Ethics Statement and Approval Form – Required for research involving humans or animals.
- Author Declaration (Copyright) Form – Must be signed by all authors.
- Suggested Reviewers Form – Authors are encouraged to suggest five reviewers from different institutions.

Ethical Approval and Compliance
For studies involving human or animal subjects, Ethics Committee Approval is mandatory. The approval must be uploaded during submission and clearly stated within the manuscript text.
The journal strictly adheres to the ethical principles outlined by:
- Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE),
- Council of Science Editors (CSE),
- Higher Education Scientific Research and Publication Ethics Guidelines (Türkiye).

Review Process and Revisions
All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
- Manuscripts that are out of scope, low-priority, or not compliant with guidelines may be rejected by the Editor-in-Chief without detailed review.
- If revisions are requested, authors must respond to reviewer comments one-by-one and submit a revised manuscript within 30 days.
- Requests for deadline extensions must be communicated in advance.
- After acceptance, no changes to author names or order are permitted.
Editorial Processing Charges (EPC)
The journal does not charge submission or article processing fees (APC). However, an Editorial Processing Charge (EPC) must be paid before the peer-review process begins. For current fees and instructions, please refer to the Price Policy page.
Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain full copyright of their published work. Articles are published under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), allowing unrestricted use with proper attribution.
Responsibilities and Misconduct
Authors are fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, and ethical compliance of their work. The journal has a zero-tolerance policy on:
- Plagiarism
- Data fabrication
- Image or result manipulation
- Misrepresentation of authorship
- Manipulation of the review process
Any violations will result in immediate rejection or retraction of the manuscript.
