Founded in 2013 as the "Menba Kastamonu University Faculty of Fisheries Journal," our journal continues its publication life as the "MEMBA Journal of Water Sciences."

MEMBA Journal of Water Sciences is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by Kastamonu University. The journal aims to encourage the publication of fundamental and applied scientific research related to aquatic sciences and water resources, strengthen interdisciplinary scientific communication, and increase knowledge in this field. The journal published four issues in 2025 (in March, June, September, and December) featuring original articles, short notes, technical notes, reports, and reviews in Turkish and English. However, the Editorial Board decided to switch to a continuous publication model starting in 2026, publishing only in English.
The MEMBA Journal of Water Sciences publishes scientific studies addressing various aspects of aquatic research, including but not limited to the following topics:
Biology, genetics, and behavior of freshwater, brackish water, and marine organisms
Water quality and pollution
Water chemistry and aquatic toxicology
Fisheries science, technology, and management
Structure and functioning of inland and marine ecosystems

MEMBA Journal of Aquatic Sciences provides an open scientific platform for researchers, academics, policymakers, and professionals interested in aquatic sciences. The journal supports scientific publications that are evaluated through a double-blind peer review system and adhere to ethical principles.
