Lisans, yüksek lisans ve doktora eğitimlerini Çukurova Üniversitesi'nde tamamlamıştır. 2007 yılında Çukurova Üniversite'nde Araştırma Görevlisi olarak başladığı akademik kariyerine, Niğde Ömer Halisdemir Üniversitesi'nde Profesör ünvanı ile devam etmektedir. İlgi alanları ekonomik büyüme ve iktisat politikalarıdır.
Gamze Yıldız Şeren, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Public Finance at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University. She obtained her bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in Public Finance from Marmara University. Her scholarly work focuses on public finance theory, public finance economics, public budgeting, and gender-informed approaches to fiscal policy. Throughout her academic career, she has presented her research at numerous national and international congresses, seminars, and workshops. She has also undertaken extensive editorial responsibilities, serving as editor for a considerable number of national and international academic books.
Mustafa ÖZER is an economist and teaches at the Anadolu University, Eskişehir, Turkey. Mustafa Özer’s areas of research are applied econometrics (especially in the fields of tourism economics, financial markets, Turkish Economy and open macro economy), financial crises, business cycles, as well as civil society and publishes articles in international journals especially subjects of financial market interactions, current account deficit and its effect on macro economy and foreign trade, growth and tourism. He teaches the Ph.D. econometrics courses at Social Sciences Institute of Anadolu University and Belgrade Banking Academy in Serbia. Özer led the both national and international projects regarding the role of civil society in Turkey, especially measuring the value added and employment contributions of civil society. Özer is also member of the scientific committee of international conferences such as MIBES, ICOBAS, ASECU, IJOPEC, EconAnadolu, Europe and Asia: Economic Integration Prospects and EUREFE. He serves as an editor in International Econometric Review. He is also editorial board member of the international scientific journals such as Equilibrium. Quarterly Journal of Economics and Economic Policy, Journal of Risk Management, and, Journal of Central Banking Theory and Practice and some journals in Turkey and contributes Finance research letter, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Review of Economics and Finance, Singapore Economic Review, Financial Innovation, Humanities and Social Sciences Communications, Journal of the Knowledge Economy, SN Business & Economics (SNBE), and International Journal of Emerging Markets as a reviewer and Sage Open as an article editor and reviewer. He acts as a guest editor in Research in Globalization.

Ortaöğretimini Bingöl Lisesinde yaptı. Atatürk Üniversitesinde lisans, İnönü Üniversitesinde yüksek lisans öğrenimini yaptıktan sonra Ankara Üniversitesi Eğitim Bilimleri Enstitüsü Eğitim Yönetimi ve Politikası Bölümünde “Özneleşme Sürecinde Okul ve Bilgi ile İlişki-Kürt Politik Aktörlerinin Eğitimsel Deneyimleri” başlıklı tez ile doktorasını tamamladı. Tezi Okul ve Öteki Yurttaşlar adı ile kitap olarak yayınlandı. Halen Mardin Artuklu Üniversitesi Edebiyat Fakültesi Eğitim Bilimlerinde öğretim üyesi olarak çalışmaktadır (2023). Eğitim çalışmalarının yanında aynı zamanda bir dil ve kültür çalışanıdır.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Soner Akın is an academic specializing in topics such as political life and institutions, international relations, political sociology, history, environment, health, urban and cultural policies, and comparative political movements. He has completed doctoral dissertations on environmental policies, health politics, and the political economy of archaeological research. Throughout his academic career, he has conducted innovative research with interdisciplinary approaches, gaining recognition in both national and international academic circles. Currently, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Akın serves at the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Hatay Mustafa Kemal University.
Aim & Scope
The aim of Politik Ekonomik Kuram (PEK) is to contribute to academic knowledge by publishing critical and theoretical studies that explore the functioning of economic, social, and political structures from a political economy perspective. The journal seeks to promote theoretical and methodological interaction among researchers from various disciplines, foster interdisciplinary dialogue, and develop new understandings of contemporary challenges.
Politik Ekonomik Kuram publishes theoretical and/or empirical research in fields such as political economy, social theory, public policy, economics, fiscal studies, political science, international relations, sociology, development studies, and environmental policy. The journal particularly welcomes contributions that explore topics such as labor-capital relations, the changing economic role of the state, inequality, sustainability, digitalization, the climate crisis, and social justice.
Author Guidelines
All manuscripts submitted to PEK undergo preliminary review by the Editorial Board and, if deemed suitable, are forwarded to reviewers through the responsible field editor under a double-blind peer review system. Submissions must follow APA 7 citation style and be prepared using the journal’s Word article template.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
Politik Ekonomik Kuram (PEK) adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the guidelines set by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The ethical principles are outlined below for authors, reviewers, and editors.
Responsibilities of Authors
- Submitted manuscripts must be original and should not be under consideration elsewhere.
- All authors listed should have made significant contributions to the work. Gift authorship is considered unethical.
- Proper citation of sources and accurate referencing are mandatory.
- In studies involving human or animal subjects, ethical approval must be obtained and clearly stated in the manuscript.
- Authors are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
- The peer review process is confidential. Reviewers must not share manuscript details with third parties.
- Reviews should be objective, constructive, and completed within the requested timeframe.
- Reviewers must notify the editor if they feel unqualified to evaluate a particular submission.
Responsibilities of Editors and the Editorial Board
- Publication decisions are based solely on academic merit and the journal’s editorial policy.
- Editors must act impartially and avoid conflicts of interest.
- Editors ensure that the peer review process is fair, transparent, and confidential.
- Editors are responsible for issuing corrections, retractions, or clarifications when necessary.
Handling of Misconduct
In cases of suspected misconduct, the journal follows COPE’s flowcharts and guidelines, which are publicly available at https://publicationethics.org/guidance/Flowcharts.
Price Policy
Politik Ekonomik Kuram (PEK) charges a submission fee from authors at the time of manuscript submission — regardless of acceptance or rejection.
For international authors, the submission fee is: 200 USD / 200 EUR
Payments are accepted only in Turkish Lira (TRY). The amounts in foreign currencies are provided for informational purposes. Authors must pay the equivalent TRY amount based on the current exchange rate at the time of payment. All bank charges and transfer fees are the responsibility of the sender.
