Biography: Prof. Dr. Sevgi YILMAZ completed her university education B.Sc. degree as first distinguished student from the department of Landscape Architecture at Cukurova University in Adana, Turkey, in 1990. She completed her Landscape Architectural Graduate Degree (M.LA) from Cukurova University. She completed doctoral studies at Atatürk University, graduate of Agriculture Faculty. She was the former head of the Department of Architecture at the University of Atatürk, Architecture and Design Faculty. She was a visiting professor at Cornell University from 2004 to 2005. She teaches basic design, landscape planning-design, urban climate, construction, and courses at the same faculty, in the department of landscape architecture. Her research interests include climate sensitive design, landscape planning, and design, urban climate, thermal comfort, and ecological urban design. Dr. YILMAZ has made numerous articles and project publications. She presented papers at international symposiums abroad. She also finished a TUBITAK 1001 project, another TUBITAK 1001 (Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey) project one is in progress.
