Research Interests My research interests lie in the area of plant science, ranging from theoretical application to wet-lab studies. My other areas of interest include plant stress physiology and biodiversity studies. In wet-lab studies, I have studied the effects of the abiotic stress conditions on plants, including drought, salinity, cold, and heavy metal stresses. The gene expression levels of some important gene families were investigated by using RT-PCR applications. Also, genetic diversity analyses were performed in plants by using molecular marker methods, such as AFLP, ISSR, and SSR. The phylogenetic analyses were made using nuclear and chloroplast sequences, especially nuclear ITS and chloroplast trnL-F, matK, and rbcL regions. In recent years, I have focused on bioinformatics applications in plant genomes. I have mined gene members in plant genomes and comparative analyses were performed among plant species. Also, 3D protein modeling, gene co-expression network, protein-protein interaction (PPIs), in silico gene expression profiles, and protein docking were performed.
