The most basic tasks of the universities are the development of the educational and cultural level of the society for common benefit. In the execution of this basic task, the construction, development, preservation of the scientific heritage and the proper transfer of it to the next generations stand out as an important sub-task that the universities should observe. In this context, our journal aims to present the articles written in the field of social sciences since 2014 to you, after a rigorous arbitration and editing process.

Journal of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty (MAKU IIBFD) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal, published bi-annual between 2014-2018, except for special issues, and is planned to be tri-annual (April, August and December) as of 2019.

MAKU IIBFD publishes scientific articles on economics, bussiness, management, international relations, public administration, political science, finance, and other related fields, in English or Turkish.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal are only accepted if they have not been or will not be published and should not be under review elsewhere. Manuscript’s language is Turkish and English. All responsibility of the studies belongs to the author(s).

MAKU IIBFD, welcomes article submissions and does not charge a publication fee.

Studies must be sent to journal via Dergipark (http://dergipark.org.tr/makuiibf) system. Each uploaded article is scanned through the iThenticate software. The articles that exceeded 20% of the results of the reports are rejected. Double blind peer review is used for review process.

THE ARTICLES APPLICATIONS WHICH VIOLATE THE FOLLOWING RULES WILL BE REJECTED WITHOUT THE REFEREE PROCESS. REGARDING OUR PUBLICATION PRINCIPLES, IT IS RECOMMENDED TO CAREFULLY REVIEW THE "WRITING RULES" - PERIODS AND WORK FLOW SCHEME SINCE AN AUTHOR CAN SUBMIT ONLY ONE ARTICLE TO OUR JOURNAL IN ONE YEAR.

In order for the articles to pass the pre-control without being rejected, an article template must be used (CLICK TO DOWNLOAD). In order for your studies to be evaluated, the entire study must be prepared using the Article Template of the Journal of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences of Mehmet Akif Ersoy University. The template file you download will facilitate the preparation of the articles in accordance with the editorial rules of our journal.
More than one article of an author (even with multiple authors) in a year cannot be published, including special issues.   

            -Example: The next publication of an author whose article was published in March 2021 can be published in the July 2022 issue (after the 3rd issue) at the earliest.

When uploading the article to the DergiPark system, fill in both the Turkish and English tabs of the TITLE - ABSTRACT - KEY WORDS sections. When logging into the system, write the English and Turkish Article titles in All Capital Letters.
The study must comply with grammar rules. The use of punctuation marks in the article should be based on the latest TDK Spelling Guide in the writing of words and abbreviations, a clear and simple way of expression should be followed, and unnecessary information that goes beyond the purpose and scope should not be included. In the preparation of the article, valid scientific methods should be followed, the subject, purpose, scope of the study and the reason for preparation etc. should be given in sufficient amounts and in a specific order. Articles that do not comply with the spelling rules will be rejected.
Publications from authors without ORCID information will not be accepted according to TR Index criteria.
The Supplementary File (Applicant Information File) containing the Names and Surnames of the article authors and other information about the article must be uploaded to the system during the application.
The supplementary file should contain the information about the title of the article, the name, surname, title of the author (s), the institution and unit to which they are affiliated, their address, telephone, (if there is) fax and e-mail , research or related areas, whether this article is included in a thesis (specialty, doctorate, etc.) and (if applicable) at which conference, where and when it was presented. In addition, responsible author for communication and the authors' research interests should be stated. This knowledge is required in order to increase professional communication in the field. Extended Summary: For articles whose native language is Turkish, the Extended Summary must be in English. For articles whose main language is English, the Extended Abstract should be in Turkish.
Similarity Report: Authors must upload the similarity report of their work to the system. Plagiarism of 20% or more, excluding double quotes "example", italic, journal template and bibliography, will cause the work to be rejected. As an example, the filtering options in the iThenticate program should be set as follows:

Except for parts of text with overlaps of less than 5 words (Limit match size to 5 words)
Other filtering options in the program menu are not included in the reporting.
The report should be saved as ".pdf" extension.
Title: Each article should have a Turkish and English title. It should be short, clear and adequately reflect the content of the article, should be written in capital letters and bold, and should not exceed 150 (one hundred and fifty) characters (if the title is recommended by the referees, this limitation can be stretched).
Abstract and Keywords: The abstract should reflect the purpose, scope and results of the study. The abstract should be 1.500 (one thousand five hundred) characters long, including the spaces between the words. Keywords should be at least three and at most eight keywords in the Keywords - Keywords field. In addition, the abstract, title and keywords should be in English. Articles written in English should also include Turkish title, abstract and keywords. Care should be taken to avoid language mistakes in abstracts in a foreign language.
Paragraphs should not be made in the Öz and Abstract sections.
Extended Abstract: Our journal has decided to publish all articles together with the Extended Summary since 2018. The Extended Abstract, which is expected to increase national and international citations, should be followed by Öz and Abstract. Each subtitle of the extended summary should be filled.
Main Text: It is preferred that the articles should not exceed thirty (30) pages using MS Office Word program.
Numbering Titles: Please do the title numbering manually. Automatic numbering made by WORD can cause problems while editing articles in preparation for publication.

Copyright Transfer Form: It should be printed out and signed by the Responsible Author and uploaded to the relevant area.
Important Note: Ethics Committee Approval must be obtained for studies requiring an Ethics Committee Decision, this approval must be stated in the article and documented at the time of application. Therefore, for articles requiring ethics committee decision, 4 (four) separate files (full text file, applicant information form, copyright transfer form and document showing ethics committee approval) should be uploaded during the first application.
Studies Requiring Ethics Committee Permission are as follows:
All kinds of research conducted with qualitative or quantitative approaches that require data collection from participants using questionnaires, interviews, focus group work, observation, experimentation, interview techniques.
Use of humans and animals (including material / data) for experimental or other scientific purposes,
Clinical studies on humans,
Research on animals,
Retrospective studies in accordance with the law on protection of personal data,
Also;
Stating that the "informed consent form" was obtained in case presentations,
Obtaining and specifying permission from the owners for the use of scales, questionnaires and photographs belonging to others,
Stating that the copyright regulations are complied with for the intellectual and artistic works used


Retrospective ethics committee approval is not required for articles that have used research data before 2020, produced from master's / doctoral studies (should be specified in the article), submitted to the journal in the previous year, accepted but not yet published.

Below are the points we ask our referees to pay attention to. It will be useful for the authors to check their articles one more time before sending them over the system, considering these.
The suitability of the Turkish and English titles of the article to the study
Summary; Does the purpose of the study include the findings and recommendations obtained according to the method applied?
Are Turkish and English abstracts compatible?
Are Turkish and English keywords appropriate, parallel to each other and sufficient?
Are the sources used in the article sufficient, up-to-date and relevant to the subject of the study?
Is every source used in the article included in the bibliography?
Are any sources that are not used in the article included in the bibliography?
Have the subject and purpose of the study been sufficiently emphasized in the introduction?
Are the research methods or methods used suitable for the study subject?
Are the Figures and Tables arranged appropriately and understandably according to the research data?
Were the research findings sufficiently discussed?
Is the work presented in a coherent and unified, fluent and understandable language?
Were grammar rules respected in the study?
Does the study have a unique value in terms of contribution to science?

Scientific Research Ethics

Scientific methods are used in obtaining data, analyzing, interpreting, and reaching the results. Unscientific results cannot be shown as research results.

While conducting the research, it is necessary to adhere to national and international agreements and to obtain permission from competent authorities.
The data obtained in the studies should be used to the extent and in the form allowed by the authorities. It should be essential that the data that should not be submitted remain confidential.
Researchers are obliged to report any adverse situations that may arise as a result of the research to the relevant persons and institutions. Every researcher has the right not to participate in the research due to these adverse situations that may occur.

Publication Ethics
Persons who have not contributed to the study during the scientific research and writing phase should not be shown as authors.
Author (s) should avoid situations such as irresponsible authorship, piracy, multilingual publishing, split publishing, biased source, biased publication, and human-animal ethics, which are stated as unethical behavior.
The author (s) should act in accordance with the citation system specified in the journal at the writing stage of the candidate article.
Unpublished or not presented studies should not be cited as references.
All or part of any work cannot be published without permission or giving reference (plagiarism).
The author (s) should indicate the financial sources of the study if any.

Referee Ethics
Referee (s); must be experts in the fields that the candidate article addresses. He is obliged to make his criticism objectively and clearly. He should not act in line with his own personal interests/views, and if necessary, he should not accept to be a referee. During the refereeing process, considering that the texts are personal, they should not be shared with third parties. They should not transfer information for their own studies from the article in the refereeing process and should not seek any academic/personal benefits. Candidate articles that will be rejected should be given clear and detailed justifications. The journal should also take into account the rules of scientific research and publication ethics.

Editorial Ethics
Editor (s) is obliged to appoint at least two referees appropriate to the subject of the candidate article. It should ensure the communication between the referee (s) and the responsible author, taking into account the blind review process. It should maintain its relations in a transparent and objective manner without discrimination between any author and referee. They should not use their position for their own personal and academic interests. Candidate articles for RET should give clear and detailed justifications. Scientific research, publication, and referee ethics should also be taken into account.
