Akdeniz Üniversitesi Mühendislik Fakültesi Gıda Mühendisliği bölümünden mezun oldu (2003). Yüksek lisans derecesini Akdeniz Üniversitesi Gıda Mühendisliği ana bilim dalından (2006), doktora derecesini ise Selçuk Üniversitesi Besin Hijyeni ve Teknolojisi ana bilim dalından aldı (2015). Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey Üniversitesinde çalışmaya başladı (2020). Karamanoğlu Mehmetbey Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Meslek Yüksekokulunda, Türkiye’de ilk açılan Pastacılık ve Ekmekçilik programına 2020 yılında ataması yapıldığından bu yana bölümde görevini yerine getirmekte, öğrencilerine ön lisans ve yüksek lisans eğitimi vermeye ve akademik çalışmalarını yürütmeye devam etmektedir.
Çalışmaları gastronomi ve gıda mühendisliği biliminden ekmek, ekşi maya, yiyecek kültürü, yiyecek araştırmaları, yiyeceklerin besin, renk ve tat içerikleri gibi konulardan oluşmaktadır. Gıda ve kültüre dair ne varsa ilgi duymaktadır.
Aims to create a platform for academic studies from gastronomy, tourism, travel and related disciplines revealing new data in line with the scientific and social requirements through scientific methods and release these studies to the public.
The journal contains unique research articles and opinion articles that reveal and discuss to topics related with gastronomy, tourism and travel with scrupulous attention to details, as well as related scientific disciplines and present issues through scientific method and approach of different disciplines.
1. Preparation of the Manuscript
· Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere.
· This journal uses double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa, throughout the review process. Because of that authors should submit the Title Page containing the Authors details and Blinded Manuscript with no author details as 2 separate files with the headings:
· Accepted articles will be sent to the authors for layout work before being assigned to the issue, and they will be asked to be arranged in accordance with the journal layout.

2. In the special font used articles, the font used should be sent with the article.
3. Manuscripts should not be included details such as page numbers, headers and footers.
4. Only the initial letters of each word in the headlines of articles should be capital and no other formation should be included.
5. In terms of spelling and punctuation, Turkish Language Institution Spelling Guide should be based on beyond exceptions required by the article or topic.
6. All manuscripts must be submitted in accordance with the style of APA. Bibliography section should be provided. Intext citation must be created as follows:
6.1. In-text citations, the author’s last name and the year of publication (and page if necessary) for the source should appear in the text. For example: Mayer (2002)…; Mayer (2002, p. 182)…; Mayer (2001, pp. 182-186)…;
6.2. If citations is at the beginning of statement must be created as follows: According to Allen and Mayer (2000)…; Following Allen (2007)…; Allen and Mayer (2004) argue that…; Kanter, Wings and Accer (2004).
6.3. In accordance with the APA format, when there are 3-5 authors in the cited source, list all surnames the first time you cite in-text: Maslow, Weber, Minsberg, Vroom and Werner (1992, pp. 154-198). Afterwards, cite only the surname of the first author followed by “et al.”: Werner et al. (1992, pp. 154-198).
6.4. When there are six or more authors, cite only the surname of the first author followed by “et al.” and the year for the first and subsequent citations: Werner et al. (2005, pp. 154-198). For multiple references, list the citations in alphabetical order and separate them with semicolons. For example: … (Williams, 2000; Yamane, 2004; Robbins et al., 1996; Robbins, Reed and Porter, 2007).

Editors’ Ethical Responsibilities
Publication Decisions: The editor is responsible for deciding on accepting, rejecting or requesting modifications to the manuscript. In some instances, the editors may require multiple rounds of reviews and modifications. The editors communicate review result in a timely fashion. The editor reserves the right to edit, clarify or shorten the manuscript as deemed necessary.
Fair Review: The editor must ensure that each manuscript submitted to Gastroia is reviewed for its intellectual content without regard to the author’s race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship or political philosophy. The decisions will be based on the paper’s importance, originality, clarity, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
Confidentiality: The editor and editorial staff must ensure that information regarding manuscripts submitted by the authors is kept confidential.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: The editor and members of the editorial board of this journal shall not use unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript for his/her own research without the author’s explicit written consent.
Referees' Ethical Responsibilities
Field of Expertise: Admit only to evaluate the work related to the field of expertise.
Evaluation Criteria: It should evaluate within impartiality and confidentiality.
Validity: If he / she thinks that he / she is confronted with a conflict of interest during the evaluation process, he / she should refuse to examine the work and inform the editor of the journal.
Privacy: The privacy policy should destroy the work that has been reviewed by the review process. Only the final versions of the studies can be used after publication.
Equality and Objectivity: Assessment should be done objectively only with respect to the content of the work. Nationality, gender, religious beliefs, political beliefs and commercial concerns should not allow it to influence the evaluation.
Turn of Phrase: Use a polite language when making an assessment. Avoid humiliating personal interpretations of hostility, slander and insults.
Ethical Responsibility: The evaluation should be carried out on time and on the above ethical responsibility
Authors' Ethical Responsibilities
Open Access Policy: The journal is freely available online. Authors are required to agree with this open access policy which enables unrestricted access and reuse of all published articles.
Reporting standards: Authors of papers should present an accurate account of the work performed as well as an objective discussion of its significance. Underlying data should be represented accurately in the paper. A paper should contain sufficient detail and references to permit others to replicate the work. Fraudulent or knowingly inaccurate statements constitute unethical behaviour and are unacceptable. Review and professional publication articles should also be accurate and objective, and editorial „opinion‟ works should be clearly identified as such.
Data access and retention: Authors may be asked to provide the raw data in connection with a paper for editorial review, and should be prepared to provide public access to such data, if practicable, and should in any event be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable time after publication.
Originality and plagiarism: The authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works, and if the authors have used the work and/or words of others, that this has been appropriately cited or quoted. Plagiarism takes many forms, from „passing off‟ another´s paper as the author´s own paper, to copying or paraphrasing substantial parts of another´s paper (without attribution), to claiming results from research conducted by others. Multiple, redundant or concurrent publication: An author should not in general publish manuscripts describing essentially the same research in more than one journal or primary publication. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical publishing behaviour. In general, an author should not submit for consideration in another journal a previously published paper. The copyright remains with the authors, thus they can decide about eventual republication of their text. The primary reference must be cited in the secondary publication.
Acknowledgement of sources: Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must always be given. Authors should cite publications that have been influential in determining the nature of the reported work. Information obtained privately, as in conversation, correspondence, or discussion with third parties, must not be used or reported without explicit, written permission from the source. Information obtained in the course of confidential services, such as refereeing manuscripts or grant applications, must not be used without the explicit written permission of the author of the work involved in these services.
Authorship of the paper: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All those who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. Where there are others who have participated in certain substantive aspects of the research project, they should be acknowledged or listed as contributors. The corresponding author should ensure that all appropriate co-authors and no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the paper and have agreed to its submission for publication. Disclosure and conflicts of interest: All authors should disclose in their manuscript any financial or other substantive conflict of interest that might be construed to influence the results or interpretation of their manuscript. All sources of financial support for the project should be disclosed. Examples of potential conflicts of interest which should be disclosed include employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, paid expert testimony, patent applications/registrations, and grants or other funding. Potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed at the earliest stage possible. Readers should be informed about who has funded research and on the role of the funders in the research.
Fundamental errors in published works: When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his/her own published work, it is the author´s obligation to promptly notify the journal editor or publisher and cooperate with the editor to retract or correct the paper. If the editor or the publisher learns from a third party that a published work contains a significant error, it is the obligation of the author to promptly retract or correct the paper or provide evidence to the editor of the correctness of the original paper.
GAST
He completed his undergraduate education in Tourism Management and Hotel Management at Bilkent University in 2007. He completed his master's degree in 2013 at Balıkesir University, Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, and his doctorate in 2017 at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Department of Tourism Management.
He currently serves as a faculty member at the Tourism Faculty of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University. His main areas of research focus on tourism marketing, tourism/tourist guiding, sustainable tourism, and cultural heritage. He has published numerous articles in national and international peer-reviewed journals.
Ayşe SÜNNETÇİOĞLU was born in 1989 in the city of Kırcaali, Bulgaria. She completed her undergraduate education at Gazi University, her master's degree at Balıkesir University, and her doctoral education at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University at the Department of Tourism Management. She, who was awarded the title of Associate Professor in 2023, is currently working at Gelibolu Piri Reis Vocational School. She conducts academic research, projects, and educational activities on tourism, gastronomy, sustainable gastronomy, and local cuisines.
Dr. Erdem TEMELOĞLU 1981 yılında Aydın'ın Nazilli ilçesinde dünyaya gelmiştir. İlk ve orta öğretimini Nazilli'de, lise eğitimini ise Muğla Anadolu Otelcilik ve Turizm Meslek Lisesi'nde tamamlamıştır. Lisans eğitimini 2004 yılında Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi Akçakoca Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik Yüksekokulu'nda tamamlamıştır. Yüksek lisans derecesini Abant İzzet Baysal Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Turizm ve Otel İşletmeciliği Anabilim Dalı'nda 2006 yılında "Otel İşletmelerinde Markalaşmanın Tüketici Satınalma Davranışı Üzerindeki Etkileri: İstanbul'daki Beş Yıldızlı Otel İşletmelerinde Bir Uygulama" başlıklı teziyle ve doktora derecesini Balıkesir Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Turizm İşletmeciliği ve Otelcilik Anabilim Dalı'nda 2014 yılında "Tüketicilerin Kişilik Özellikleri, Risk Algıları ve Yeniden Satın Alma Davranışları Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi: Otel İşletmelerinde Bir Araştırma" başlıklı teziyle almıştır. 2006 yılında Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart Üniversitesi Ayvacık Meslek Yüksekokulu Turizm ve Otel İşletmeciliği Programı'nda öğretim görevlisi olarak göreve başlamış ve 2017 yılında Dr. Öğretim Üyesi kadrosuna atanmıştır. Dr. Erdem TEMELOĞLU evli ve bir çocuk babasıdır. Temel çalışma alanları turizm pazarlaması, yiyecek-içecek işletmeciliği ve otel işletmeciliğidir.
Sinan GOKDEMIR was born in 1982 at Kayseri Türkiye. He achieved bachelor degree in Adnan Menderes March University at Tourism and Hospitality Management School/ Travel Management and Tourist Guidance. After having a couple of different experience at the travel guidance position with different international travel agencies such as Peregrine Adventures and Boronia Travel Center, he achieved Master’s degree at Tourism Management at Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University in year 2011. Right after he got his master diploma from University he applied and accepted for Phd at Balıkesir University in year 2011. He got his Phd diploma at year 2017. He is a Professor Assist. in Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University Tourism Faculty since 2013. His main research interests are Tourism Guidance, Cultural Heritage, Travel Management and Social Media Usage in Tourism.
Tören, 2000 yılında Şahinbey Anadolu Otelcilik ve Turizm Meslek Lisesi ile giriş yaptığı turizm alanına; teorik, yurt içi ve yurt dışı pratik tecrübelerinin yanı sıra, yüksek lisans ve doktora çalışmalarını tamamladıktan sonra, öğretim üyesi olarak katkı sağlamaya çalışmaktadır. Çalışma konuları arasında, "Diaspora Turizmi", "Uluslararası Göçler", "Kültür Turizmi", "Kültürel Miras Yönetimi" ve "Seyahat Motivasyonları" bulunmaktadır.
