Pamukkale University Journal of Education values education-based scientific ideas that will provide direction to global and regional developments in education and find solutions to problems by following the changes in science and technology. It aims to meet the readers with qualified and original scientific studies aiming to create educational perspectives that prioritize the integration of knowledge and skills shaping the future in education, and thus to improve the education system in the 21st century.

Pamukkale University Journal of Education (PUJE) provides high quality research-based studies conducted with qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods on disciplinary/interdisciplinary learning, career planning, professional development processes, family involvement in education and lifelong learning covering early childhood, primary, lower and upper secondary school and tertiary levels.

A) PUJE prioritize the studies as follows:
A1) Establishing the connection between theory and practice and supporting teacher training processes,
A2) Examining the development, management and supervision issues in education in depth,
A3) Transferring the reflections of students, parents, teachers and administrators in natural education environments to well-designed works,
A4) Evaluating local policies, programs and innovations from an international perspective,
A5) Helping to develop new educational models, measurement tools, interdisciplinary research designs,
A6) Integrating technology into learning environments,
A7) Multidisciplinary (interdisciplinary) and transdisciplinary (supradisciplinary) studies (such as STEM),
A8) Both developing and testing the usefulness of educational measurement tools
A9) Including the integration of technology that helps to develop educational applications,
A10) Developing and evaluating a new theoretical or applied educational model,
A11) Supporting the professional development processes of teachers.

*Even though the studies have the above features, those containing at least one of the following features will not be included in the peer review process.

B) PAUEFD excludes the following studies:
B1) Literature (literature) compilation and book analysis studies,
B2) Studies involving the analysis of textbooks,
B3) Simple quantitative studies carried out with only one independent variable (For example, the effect of variable x on variable y)
B4) Simple qualitative or quantitative studies conducted through only one data collection tool (For example, analyses based only on demographic variables, only through interview or scale),
B5) Studies based only on the opinions of the participants,
B6) Quantitative studies that were not conducted on a sufficient number of samples (For the sampling method, the accepted criteria in the literature should be considered and the minimum sample number depending on the population should be determined.),
B7) Studies measuring the attitudes, behaviors etc. of tertiary level students towards a course they have taken,
B8) Local studies outside the scope of international subjects (For example, studies for simple (non-international local focused) scale development and adaptation only),
B9) Studies outside the focus of educational sciences (Engineering education studies within the scope of STEM education can be accepted in line with the editor's opinion. If the disciplines in question are considered within the framework of education, they may fit into the scope of the journal. For example, studies that develop history education models and applied with students are included in the scope of the journal),
B10) Studies conducted with weak scientific method, with low validity and reliability (For example, studies without content analysis although it is called content analysis, studies with poor quality of quantitative/qualitative data analysis),
B11) Studies not clearly explaining their background and importance in the literature (For example, studies not explaining their contribution to the relevant literature and theoretical background in a qualified way).

All manuscripts to be submitted to PUJE must be prepared considering the Article Templates in English and Templates in Turkish (APA 7th Edition). There is a page limit for the submitted manuscripts. Manuscripts should not exceed 35 pages, 1,5 line spaced, using Times New Roman 12-point font (including the abstract, tables, figures, references, acknowledgments, and appendices) in both languages.

In article submissions, the name, institution or any similar information of the author(s), which may reveal the identities of the individuals and harm the evaluation process, should be deleted from the file and the file is required to be uploaded to the system anonymously.

Providing the metadata of the articles is of great importance when uploading them to the DergiPark system. Therefore, the abstract, the key words and the bibliography in the Turkish and English parts of the manuscripts must be fully entered into the system.

Instructions for Authors

1- Ethics Committee Approval: "Ethics Committee Approval" is requested for studies conducted in all branches of science, including social sciences, based on the change made in the TR Index Journal Evaluation Criteria for 2020. Therefore, "Ethics Committee Approval" must be obtained from all studies submitted to our journal. Studies without ethics committee approval will not be included in the evaluation process.

2- Plagiarism: All candidate articles should be scanned with software such as IThenticate© and Turnitin© before being sent to PUJE, and these similarity reports should be submitted with the manuscript. The similarity rate for the whole manuscript should be less than 15%, and the similarity rate for a source should be less than 3%. However, careful examination of the similarities above 1% will be in the interest of the author(s). PUJE has the right to reject all candidate manuscripts that carry academic plagiarism at the editorial stage.

3- Publication Language: The review process of the manuscript submitted to our journal is made on the full Turkish text.

If your manuscript is accepted for publication after the peer-review process, you will be asked for the full text of your manuscript in both Turkish and English.
The full texts in Turkish and English, prepared in both languages, are checked by the language editors of our journal. If the language editors deem the manuscript's language insufficient, language editing will be requested. The manuscript for which language editing is requested will be requested to be redacted in the accredited language institutions recommended below, and the proofreading document will be submitted to the editorial board. An unedited and undocumented manuscript will not be accepted for publication.

You can contact our journal's language editors (pauediting@pau.edu.tr) for support in the translation and proofreading process. Organizations that provide alternative translation and proofreading services where the author(s) can receive support during the translation and editing process of the manuscript are presented below.

Reviewing and Publishing

All manuscripts sent to the (PUJE) need to follow the principles below in order to get in the process of evaluation and publishing processes. The manuscripts which do not fulfill the requirements of publication principles and the writing rules are not accepted and kindly returned to the author(s).

1. The manuscripts should not be previously published work or should not be under consideration or peer review for publication elsewhere. Papers presented in congresses – on condition that has not been published as a full text in congress books – and manuscripts from dissertations should have a footnote including the necessary information. Author(s) have the responsibility of all contents in the manuscripts.
2. All manuscripts submitted to the PUJE are subjected to a screening by the editorial board in terms of scope and writing rules. Editorial Board may reject the submissions which do not comply with the principles of the PUJE. After the screening screening, all manuscripts are sent to at least two external/independent referees for blind review. The referees are given 30 days and a new referee is appointed if any one of them does not express an opinion in the given period of time. Manuscripts are required to have an “issuable” report by at least two referees in order to be published. In case of any rejection from one of the referees, a third (or forth if required) referee is appointed. Author(s) are responsible with the revisions (if any) recommended by the referee(s) in 30 days.
