Aim & Scope
Aim of the journal is to contribute in improving social sciences by publishing highly scientific research studies in various areas of social sciences.
The scope of the journal, in general, includes all areas of social sciences. Specifically, original papers in the fields of economics, business, public finance, international relations, history, Turkish language and literature, comparative literature are welcome.
Writing Rules
1. Eskisehir Osmangazi University Journal of Social Sciences is a refereed journal and published twice a year in June and in December.
2. A separate sheet containing author(s) name, family name, title, institution, e-mail and communication addresses should be sent to the journal along with manuscripts.Authors should state purpose of their submission explicitly, and their knowledge and acceptance of editorial policy of the journal by written and signed letter which should be faxed or mailed to the Journal’s Office.
3. Manuscripts should be prepared by using MS Word 2010 version. The total length of any manuscript submitted should not exceed 25 pages (A4) including tables, figures, references and annexes and should be typed in 1.5 line spacing. The font size should be 10.5 (Calibri). Pages should be numbered. Manuscripts which are not conformable with the conditions concerning the formatting will not be taken into pre evaluation process and author(s) will be notified.
4. All manuscripts should contain English Abstract with an English title and a Turkish abstract with a Turkish title not exceeding 120 words. The abstracts should concisely present the purpose of the study, the methodology, the results, and the conclusion remarks. Minimum three maximum five keywords should be given both in English and in Turkish. Titles and text of abstracts should be written with 9 fonts, 1 line spacing and using Calibri. There must be no mention about name(s) of the authors in the manuscript. Titles of manuscript should be very short and represent it correctly.
5. All text is justified, given the space between paragraphs 12nk, except titles left indent paragraphs should be done. The page margins on all sides should be set to 2.5 cm of all manuscripts submitted.
6. All titles should be written in bold, left justified (unintended), and only the first letters of words should be written in capital letter. Manuscripts should contain sub sections as introduction, method, findings, conclusions and references. Sub-headings should be numbered as 1, 1.1, 1.1.1.
7. In-text citations APA method should be followed. "The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association" is published by American Psychological Association (APA). If needed, explanatory information can be given by footnote.
8. In-text citations, the author’s last name and the year of publication (and page number if necessary) fort eh source should be given. Examples of in text citations with one author, Ozturk 2005) ...; Kaya (2008: 12) ...; Tas (2007: 182-186). Examples of in text citations with two authors: Kaya and Tas (2004) ...; Ozturk and Dogan (2009, 45). In accordance with the APA citation format, when there are 3 to 5 authors in the cited source, list all family names the first time cited in the text: Ozturk, Kaya and Tas (1998: 25-35). Subsequent references to the same source in the text cite only family name of the first author followed by “et al." Example: Ozturk et al. (1998: 25-35). When there are multiple sources to be cited, list the citations in alphabetical order and separate them with semicolons. For example: ... (Kaya, 2008; Ozturk, 2005; Ozturk and Dogan, 2009: 45; Tas, 2007: 182-186). Examples for reference:

9. Tables and figures should be centered on page and be prepared within the margins of page and should be without color. Tables and figures can also be placed at the end of manuscript and before references as annexes if necessary. Tables and figures should be numbered beginning from 1 separately. Their titles should be short and brief and only first letter of each word should be written with capital letter. If necessary, explanatory footnotes and abbreviations may be placed under tables and figures and their sources should also be placed there according to citations rule in text. Tables and figures should not contain direct output of software program, rather author(s)
should prepare tables and figures manually.
10. References should be placed at the end of manuscripts. References should contain only those sources directly used and cited in the manuscripts. Each source should be placed in the reference by alphabetical order of author’s last name.

Ethical Principles and Publication Policy
1. All manuscripts submitted to Eskisehir Osmangazi University Journal of Social Scien-ces should not previously be published elsewhere, or it should not be submitted for publication in another journal, it should not be in the review process of another journal or it should not have been accepted for publication elsewhere.
2. Author(s) are fully responsible for studies published in Eskisehir Osmangazi University Journal of Social Sciences and those under review processes. Articles published in the journal do not reflect the opinion of Eskisehir Osmangazi University.
3. Copyrights of all accepted manuscripts and published articles (printed or electronic) belong to Eskisehir Osmangazi University Journal of Social Sciences, without any furt-her action.
4. The Journal publishes articles written in Turkish and in English. Articles written in German, French and Arabic may be considered.
5. Any study supported by an institution or derived from thesis should indicate this by using (*) sign at the top of the last word on the title of work and give information in a footnote on the same page. Authors of article derived from thesis, thesis owner sho-uld be placed in the first place while adviser should be the second author.
6. All manuscripts submitted to the journal, are subject to initial review by the editorial board. All types of content and formatting changes may be requested from studies under initial review.
7. Editor and editorial board decide to start the review process. Manuscripts passed initial review are sent to at least two referees.
8. Referees are chosen among professors and associate professors working in universi-ties in Turkey. Referees from universities abroad, if deemed necessary, can also be chosen. If necessary, experts who have doctorate degree can also be assigned as re-feree.
9. The identity of both author and referees is kept strictly confidential during evaluation process.
10. According to the referees’ reports, the manuscript may be accepted for publication, revision or additional information and shortening may be requested from the aut-hor(s), or it may be rejected and the author (s) are notified from the decision made.
11. Author (s), is required to make all the changes requested by referees. The manuscript cannot be published without requested changes have been made. Author (s), should submit a report containing changes have been made upon referees' reports.
12. An author can publish only one article in one issue. Also an author cannot publish mo-re than one article in two consecutive issues.
13. Manuscript submitted to journal cannot be returned to the author(s).
14. This journal adopts open access policy. When an issue is published it will freely ope-ned to public.
