My research areas are
Architectural design, environmental psychology, urban morphology, spatial cognition, spatial perception, spatial legibility, environmental image, phenomenology, literary space, destination image, tourist behavior, literary tourism, design/architectural education, culture-space relations, space syntax...
Recently I have focused on
Teaching perceptual space and its representations, abstract visual thinking and its representations, re-imaging perceptual space in fictional literature, phenomenological dimensions of spatial perception, teaching the methodology of early stages of architectural design, urban behavior theories and approaches.
And... I consider photography, painting/drawing, fictional literature, narrative, and cinema as means/tools for thinking about perceptual space; where I try to integrate these disciplines with perceptual space in terms of its psychological and philosophical aspects.
And... I generally focus on urban space while researching environmental psychology, environmental evaluation, environmental image, architectural design contexts; specifically, spatial legibility, user preferences, affective dimensions of architectural space...
